speakers - Microsoft Community

my speakers have started give sound intermittently. if 1 remembers english comedian used pretend mic giving trouble saying parts of each word . well, that's like. don't know make speakers are, didn't cast lot. when check "sound" section control panel, says realtek high definition audio. default device. have gigabyte mother board and, using test programme, both speakers check out ok (they each play sound). i'm using windows 7. lead speakers won't reach computer use extension lead. has worked long time. i've tried new extension lead , still have same problem. need speakers work because have problem (usb hdd not recognised) , answer on net in video, can't hear. grateful advice experts (or knows how solve this). thanks.
