Mail App - Microsoft Community

i'm  trying sort out friends pc, using win 8.1, has mail app, outlook.com a/c set - works ok

for reason created hotmail.co.uk mail a/c accessed via browser, functions

in settings>accounts added hotmail a/c dialogue not expected, per pic, can / have added a/c mail app still shows original outlook.com a/c - missing obvious (i dont use win 8 or mail app)

let's troubleshoot issue performing steps below:

method 1:

download , run windows app troubleshooter on link.

method 2:

1. navigate location , delete folder:

c:\users\username\appdata\local\packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe

2. try add new account.

3. if issue persist, proceed run command below using powershell:

get-appxpackage -allusers -name microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps | foreach {add-appxpackage -disabledevelopmentmode -register "$($_.installlocation)\appxmanifest.xml" -verbose}.
