cortana Can Only Hear Me When I Bring Up My Speaker? - Microsoft Community

i run trouble shooting , says fixed . can hello cortana "can hear me .

she answers. try question says didn't hear thing? everytime need ask cortana

i have trouble shoot speakers says fixed. when i talk quiet.and have respond voice.

because mulititasking .plus safe. enabled , speakers up. tried lower volume. can someome please me . have windows 10 hp (cortana)  was preinstalled on computer. keep her.

upon analyzing details provided thread, there lot of possible causes kind of matter. possible drivers are outdated or issue within hardware itself. however, need make sure case. suggest perform these methods of troubleshooting and check if there changes:

method 1: run hardware , device troubleshooter. 

the troubleshooter will scan and repair detected error. run troubleshooter, follow these steps: 

1. on search bar, type troubleshooting and hit enter. 

2. choose hardware , sound. 

3. click on hardware , devices to run troubleshooter. 

method 2: update drivers.   

to know how update drivers, click here. 

method 3: run sfc scan.       

sfc will scan and run an automatic repair to corrupted system files that detect. suggest perform twice. run sfc scan, follow these steps:       

1. run command prompt administrator.       

2. type sfc /scannow and hit enter.       

method 4: run dism tool.       

dism will restore corrupted system image that causes issues on icons, applications, , other hardware or software devices. perform dism, follow these steps:       

1. run command prompt administrator.       

2. type following command:       

   1. dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth       

   2. dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth       

note: this might take while finish scanning. do not cancel. 

method 5: clean boot.    

to perform clean boot, click here.    

note: reset computer normal mode once done troubleshooting following section "how reset computer start after clean boot troubleshooting" from same article. 

method 6: perform custom installation of windows 

custom installation works installing windows 10 again. performing custom installation replace those corrupted system files and system image files that causes issue occur new file. kindly refer wiki article entitled how to: custom installation of windows by andre da costa. 

if issue persists, suggest contact computer/laptop's manufacturer for further assistance.
