Multiple problems after last update to build 14393.576 including very, - Microsoft Community

 here list of problems began last windows update 1607 (build reads 14393.576) , update of windows office 2013 (now showing version 15.0.4885.1001).

(i have toshiba laptop p55t-b5154 upgraded windows 8.1 windows 10 home edition.  i'll leave go toshiba support find specs.)

everything worked , extremely pleased wonderfully fast computer , agile operating system  when unboxed new laptop , pressed power button boot windows 8.1 promise install windows 10 home edition did). but time has gone , fixes microsoft has put out updates, windows became increasingly erratic.   used answers.microsoft.com , able solve many of issues cropped up.  however, think fixes , updates, have operating system need chuck , clean install though means spending unthinkable time backing files, reloading apps, , reloading office 2013.  thankful retired professor , have free time this.

after last windows 10 update month, december 2016, when powered computer, my boot up time increased 30 seconds on 5 minutes. no matter did, has not changed.  i went answers.microsoft.com , read reply 1 user having same issue state bootups can take long and, person powered up his computer in morning, went make cup of coffee , breakfast , time computer  ready.  well, that's , fine, when time changed 30 seconds making cup of coffee , breakfast, did not seem quite right. 

it strange because computer after last update had been nice surprise when inadvertently said "hey, cortana, how far grand canyon?" , have reply!!  correctly!! now, nothing.  but, bit tongue , used computer , noticed, no sound internal speakers, no microphone use,  no operable cortana.  , when machine started fall apart fixes read try , software bought and downloaded to update drivers might causing issues. noticed in addition problems realtek sound driver, start menu list dimmed out , became unreadable under subheadings so, yes,  i tell in "t" section , see thumbnail software application couldn't read was.  plowed on.  tried troubleshooters.  used suggestions dism , get-app and sfc /scannow.

i decided try best, , found sorts of software suddently added computer did not download.  of software windows store.  however, must add downloaded additional utility software ferret out malware crept on computer online site programs when opened, added unwanted software system , uninstallable unless downloaded guaranteed software uninstall anything!   

over , over, troubleshooted computer using troubleshooting tools , answers.microsoft.com fix issues , downloaded one more utility solve problems.  but, know, i'm sure made matters worse.  , have spent 2 weeks fixing problems appeared 1 after tried best laptop "out of box" working order.

now, have computer speakers may click and have inoperable headphones don't work produce brief noises when use my  bluetooth headset.  have start list cannot read no matter color try change fonts or use high contrast.  have updated edition microsoft office 2013 added unasked applications such skype business, infopath designer, infopath filler, telementary dashboard office, onedrive business , others don't want , yet cannot remove unless uninstall office 2013 , reinstall it. does understand time takes reconfigure outlook?   however, have computer work without sound , unreadable start list.  not satisfied having wait 5 minutes boot until can use it.  at least have software use pinned taskbar still working.

i have been loyal user of microsoft software '80's when bought first msdos operating system  , moved kaypro on make room.  have been loyal user first edition of microsoft word , first windows operating system when in 30's.  ah yes, remember wonderful anticipation upon opening software box contained 30 disks upload machine.  70 years old , still enjoy excitement of a product microsoft when works @ beginning of installation.  (i hear pavlov dogs barking in distance.)  

but have learned on years, moment new software used, becomes less reliable , replaced fix, update, or upgrade, or "new" such ibm's os/2.  , so, @ 1am on december 28th, 2016,  i know bite dust , ask fix , told clean install and reinstall of software including office 2013, configure outlook and upload .pst files, etc., etc.   must insane 1 measure of insanity:  if person same thing on , over again, expecting different results getting same results on , on again, must crazy.  well, ask, "can help?"   

i can feel return "out of box" state wonderful laptop.
