photos print too dark - Microsoft Community

windows 8.1 using hp office jet pro 6968 prints photos dark, darker preview.  is windows or printer problem?

are using genuine hp cartridges or refills , quality paper? refilled cartridges can produce variable results , colour rendition defined both paper , ink being of matching brands giving best image.

as cause, bit of both. few monitors present colours accurately and in professional environment needs calibrating printer. photo dark or monitor light?
