windows 10 installation - Microsoft Community

running windows 7 dell latitude d620 , tried update cnc operating software , told me needed upgrade operating system work friend @ work gave me windows 10 installation cd have tried several times install disk drive , there no uefi mode options on bios or start menu on disk , no option yet input product key.

now have situation old windows 7 no longer boots (possibly gone) , windows 10 loads blank screen flashing cursor @ top left corner .

i have tried both recover saving files , recover wiping everything , gives me recover wiping option .

really need computer run machine , thanks

first, check determine if computer compatible windows 10:

check list determine if computer compatible windows 10 anniversary update or not

if not compatible windows 10, suggest try downgrading windows 7 manually.

step 1: download create bootable copy of windows 7 on working computer:

download windows 10, 8, 7 isos

step 2: configure bios boot install media:

bios/uefi setup guide: boot cd, dvd, usb drive or sd card
