Problem With Windows Update? - Microsoft Community

hi,

i purchased new hp probook laptop yesterday windows 10 pro on it. after starting first time yesterday downloaded updates , got page says "updating windows 10. please wait. 99% complete." under windows 10 upgrade assistant.  

i have been stuck @ point 13 hours. called hp customer support , told wait 24 hours. told windows software problem not hardware problem (gee, thanks). implication contact microsoft after 24 hour period. first time using windows 10 pro. each version seems have own peculiar issues on doing things updating software.

i using windows 7 home premium on toshiba laptop.  when update there can't go desktop , work on windows 10 pro. 1 time got hung @ updating page , ended having reboot. when did continued normally.

the first time turn on computer , have updates takes long time couple of days me software. have never been stuck @ 99% on 13 hours before updates windows. else working fine laptop except problem. hung windows 10 upgrade assistant? don't know. not since else seems working. when had windows 7 home premium problem mentioned in last paragraph move mouse arrow. stayed stuck @ whatever percentage point.

see, i'm confused. i'm tired not sleeping , i've shed tears on problem. appreciated.

you have me confused well! computer want fix?

please provide more information cause of problem may diagnosed.

 

please restart computer , allow 20 minutes system run before uploading information required me investigate problem. when examining event viewer log files many, not all, problems show in period after computer has been booted.

 

please provide copy of system information file. access system information file select keyboard shortcut win+r, type msinfo32 and click ok . place cursor on system summary. select file, export , give file name noting located. click save. files in txt file format preferred.do not place cursor within body of report before exporting file.the system creates new system information file each time system information accessed. need allow minute or 2 file populated before exporting copy. please upload file onedrive, share , post link here. if report in language other english, please state language.

 

please upload onedrive , share copy of system log file from event viewer , post link here. please remove earlier copies of logs onedrive.

 

to access system log select keyboard shortcut win+r, type eventvwr.msc , press the enter key. list in left side of window select windows logs , system. place cursor on system, select action menu , save events as (the default evtx file type) , give file name. not provide filtered files. do not place cursor in list of reports before selecting action menu. not clear logs whilst have continuing problem.
