Computer and TV link via HDMI - Microsoft Community

i run windows 7 , have managed connect pc (64 bit) samsung smart tv via hdmi cable. computer monitor goes blank , therefore cannot call programmes eg videos. computer monitor takes vga output pc , tv takes hdmi output. seems once connect hdmi stops vga output. have tried modifying settings on monitor no luck.

what missing here? must close! need feed computer monitor hdmi cable? or there graphics setting need make.
