after the new Windows update August 2017 Microsoft edge crashes - Microsoft Community

ever since new windows update, have been having problems microsoft edge. biggest is, when launch hub history or favorites of edge freezes , have re launch microsoft edge , have trouble doing have wait or restart pc

this issue occurs if dns client not running. it's turned on default, there's chance installing updates turned off. issue can occur due extension installed in microsoft edge. we'd know following can better assist you.

• are experiencing same issue other apps installed on computer?
• have tried checking if dns client running? check it, type services.msc in search bar, dns client. should show running.

in meantime, troubleshoot microsoft edge issue, suggest running troubleshooter windows apps. apps troubleshooter can resolve issues games , applications downloaded windows store. afterwards, if issue persists, recommend reset microsoft edge through windows powershell. here's how:

1. from start menu, type windows powershell. right-click on , click run administrator.
2. type command: get-appxpackage -allusers -name microsoft.microsoftedge | foreach {add-appxpackage -disabledevelopmentmode -register “$($_.installlocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -verbose}. command delete , re-register microsoft edge data.
