Cannot reset Win10 - Microsoft Community

i've tried 3 times reset old acer laptop that's running win10. need ship out , don't want of digital footprint left on it. go through steps reset under recovery, , chugs through if doing something, hours later comes message not reset computer , nothing changed. (i did on laptop, , worked fine, don't think i'm missing steps.)

are there other approaches resetting can try?

the issue either caused hardware or software problems. can hardware issue if device not compatible windows 10. however, since you've mentioned has been installed windows 10, can rule possibility out. since you've done recovery 3 times, can suggest doing clean installation of windows 10. can follow greg carmack's instructions on wiki article in-depth guide on how clean installation on device.

let know how if you're able install windows 10.
