Windows Vista Failure To Check For Updates - Microsoft Community

hello, running new install of windows vista home premium sp2 64-bit acer now, i've run issue windows not check updates take hours , still says "checking updates", there alot of windows updates vista need before can use computer.

the update installed "windows update agent 7.6.7600.256", , since hasn't worked.

i've tried these solutions on microsoft's support forums , i've tried download updates make work , nothing has made run better still takes hours check no avail.

is there way make windows update work because i've tried these fixes , im out of ideas.
