How to completely block internet access but allow intranet access? - Microsoft Community

i have windows 7 pro notebook i've been using file , print server , it's going quite far. however, block internet (if possible) while still allowing local network access. i'm using third party program purpose, in looking around other (possibly better) solutions, i've run across information there may easier methods of accomplishing this.

1. does using gpo purpose really work?
2. are third party programs better, , if so, why?
3. are there methods other gpo built os perform same function reliably?
