Windows Update - Microsoft Community

yesterday, 12 january 2017, had restart after windows update downloaded update.  afterwards, kept getting a warning windows firewall turned off. when tried turn on nothing happen , warning continue.  also, not type when try enter term in cortana nor can verbally ask cortana question.  had restore computer to 12/30/2016 automatic restore point computer working normally.

now, under update status, updates available are:

• security update adobe flash player windows 10 version 1607 (for x64-based systems) (kb3214628).
• windows malicious software removal tool windows 8, 8.1, 10 , windows server 2012, 2012 r2, 2016 x64 edition - january 2017 (kb890830).
• cumulative update windows 10 version 1607 x64-based systems (kb3213986).

i believe kb3213986 culprit since computer fine until update. updates kb3214628 , kb890830 installed without problems.

how keep windows update causing computer malfunctioning again?

windows updates providing bug fixes , issue fixes previous versions. although compatibility issue thing at. in case encounter issue future updates, suggest check article. fix windows update errors.

just in case want disable updates in windows 10, although don't suggest disabling updates.
