Sound coming through speakers AND headphones - Microsoft Community

originally, had no sound in headphones. got proper driver hp , installed. sound plays in both speakers , headphones.

 

looking @ sound under control panel, has:

  • speakers , headphones  idt high definition audio codec - says when don't have headphones plugged in
  • communications headphones idt high definition audio codec (unplugged) -this option grayed out.

mouneshwar r's reply in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/how-prevent-sound-from-playing-through-both/4d65f6fb-873c-4154-8dd1-638877c6e4a1 did not work @ all.

reading around web (including above), i tried uninstalling , reinstalling driver. didn't help. not have additional "sound card driver software". i not have headset under recording, microphone.
