Cortana Voice Recognition Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

cortana says can't hear me. select go microphone setup, microphone setup says haven't got microphone.  is maybe not looking in right place?

the place can find option turn microphone on in google gmail.  having turned microphone on in gmail, if without exiting gmail go cortana, hears me.  if exit gmail, cortana no longer hears me.

how activate microphone in windows 10?  none of microphone setups seem offer option.

the question is, how gmail offer me option activate microphone, windows 10 doesn't?

greetings..

try restarting pc , try again...( simple restart may fix of problems)

(else)

right click on speaker icon (the icon near date , time) of task bar..

click on recording...

you see microphone option there not plugged in or plugged in,etc...

(if says, microphone plugged in right click , select set default device...

if says, not plugged in, then 

try audio troubleshooting selecting troubleshoot sound problems (by right clicking same speaker icon , choosing troubleshoot sound problems) , follow onscreen instructions...

many kind response.  i've found out how integrated laptop microphone work anything, e.g. gmail etc., in windows 10
