Problem with my USB drive whilst trying to re install Windows 10. - Microsoft Community

i downloaded windows media creation tool re install windows 10 , plugged in usb hard drive(size 256 gb) allow me   re install windows 10. media creation tool copying files onto usb drive requested reformat, backup data on usb drive canceled media creation tool program save backup data. usb drive in computer named       esd-usb drive , has size of 31.9 gb. understand media creation tool requires formatted usb drive windows recovery data , use 2 usb drives next time attempt run media creation tool; 1 backup data , media creation tool. how can restore usb drive can access 256 gb of hard drive space, mentioned see size of usb drive 31.9 gb?

problem resolved through disk manager. future reference helpful if media creation tool advise reformat needed on usb drive.
