download old games by cd rom to Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

have bought simfarm jewel case cd rom. cannot run or download on windows 10. cd rom in great condition no scratches. when try open or simfarm says setup exe lost or damaged. believe capatability issue.what do???

are able open disk , view files on disk ? if not disk faulty

(assuming able run or open other disks).

simfarm (released in '93) dos based game.  have problems running dos

based games far @ win7, @ least (not positive, believe win98 last could

run dos) .

also, old (pre 2000) directx based games use 16bit installers not work on 64bit windows.

you can run dos based games using emulator linked below.

dfend reloaded is user interface dos box emulator, included.

i've never used myself. couldn't bothered learning process.

simfarm not among them unfortunately.

btw - avoid confusion terminology.

'downloading' term used internet. if have a  disk install the game or software.
