Windows 10 disabled updates - Microsoft Community

is possible disable automatic updates in windows 10? in of cases custom software might in insdustrial environment , updates cannot run update before tested custom software work after install.

as far found on settings user might delay updates, not prevent them.

settings > update & security > windows update > advanced options > defer feature updates

or

local group policy editor (gpedit.msc)

administrative templates > windows components > windows updates > defer windows updates

i did understand feature updates can hold 180 days , security updates 30 days. not more. true automatic updates cannot disabled in windows 10?

the creators update (due shortly) have more controls, depending on updates are,

you can select current branch business, allows more testing in wild before launch, can defer updates longer others.

but there statement updates required keep windows running still installed.

personally still prefer use group policy notify me before download

administrative templates > windows components > windows updates  > configure automatic updates, choose option 2 "notify download , auto install"

however still cannot choose updates download , leave. can when i want.
