i using windows 7 came along laptop , offered free upgrade windows 10, upgraded , using year or 2. hdd has crashed , needed reinstallation of os, tried installing windows 10, not accept cd key of windows 7. had fresh windows 7. 

kindly advise how install free windows 10 fall , edition download , install

did install windows 10 edition corresponds original windows 7 license?

    • the copy of windows 10 download , upgrade correspond edition of windows have installed, if not, why might experiencing problems activating:

  • windows 7 starter, home basic, home premium, windows 8.0 core, windows 8.1 core will install windows 10 home

  • windows 7 professional, windows 7 ultimate, windows 8.0 pro, windows 8.1 pro will install windows 10 pro

when upgraded previous version of windows or receive new computer preinstalled windows 10, happened hardware (your pc) digital entitlement, unique signature of computer stored on microsoft activation servers. windows 7 or windows 8 genuine license running exchanged diagnostics key.
