Bad Data Error code: 0x80090005 during backup (Windows 10) - Microsoft Community

in attempting backup windows 10 hp omen computer, received bad data message, error code: 0x80090005.  have seen error on other aspects, not backup error.

  • are trying backup whole drive or specific folder?
  • are using external drive make backup?
  • have made backup of computer in past?
  • what troubleshooting steps have tried far?
