windows 10 installation media deleted everything on external hard - Microsoft Community

it started blue screen @ bootup, code 0xc0000034 - boot configuration data file missing.

lacking usb flash stick, used external hard drive create boot disk in order run windows repair:

my external hard drive contained 2 letters: e: , d:

i had pictures stored in d: , made sure e: empty because knew deleted station after making boot disk. after running installation media tool on e:, d: deleted! have 1 letter containing boot disk (d:).

all pictures in d: last 7  years gone!

at point, don't have system can retrieve files yet. could've downloaded installation media on different external drive, or backed files on different drive. creating recovery drive reinstalling windows 10, can refer article created andre da costa future reference.
