Typing inside search box not working after update - Microsoft Community

hi all,

have lenovo p50 thinkpad win10 professional , have strange problem started yesterday after installation of
few updates done through lenovo system update. before installation worked fine.

problem typing in search box doesn't work, meaning letters not appear. happens in start menu search box , inside settings search box.

keyboard not problem since works fine in other applications, in control panel or  windows explorer search box. i've tried virtual keyboard , doesn't work.

if paste text (ctrl + v doesn't work, right click , paste does) search box, search find item, search ok, cannot input text it.

out of these installed updates, me looks thinkpad hotkey features integration package might cause. can me advice on how fix this?

note i've tried restarting computer, reindexing, restarting explorer, cotrana , serch service, performing troubleshooting in windows, no help.
i've created new user account , tried there same result.
don't have system restore point can't recovery.

the issue typing inside search box can caused several reasons. resolve this, check abdul_malik and unnoted's answer similar thread posted last october 13th, 2015. original poster having same issue, in case, happened after upgrading windows 10. solution provided link applies current version , build. here's link.

if solutions provided link did not resolve issue, update can assist further.
