TwitchSetup Failing to run after being downloaded - Microsoft Community

in past 2 weeks bought new high end gaming laptop , gaming desktop.

i downloaded , ran twitchsetup on laptop. twitch desktop app runs fine on laptop.

the desktop arrived few days later , went through same installation process, fails. can download twitchsetup fine, when run (either installation, or download folder) fails install due missing "c://......./twitchsetup.msi" file.

indeed there no file @ location. nor there in comparable location on laptop, , ran fine without it. i'm not sure issue is.

the troubleshooting think of multiple deletes , try again, failed. checked windows licence active. can't find info re .msi files except in context of problems uninstalling. i've emailed twitch, haven't hear yet , feel may windows problem. , apart issue desktop performs otherwise fine @ stage other downloads , installations.

laptop: alienware 17 r4. windows 10 home 64 bit. vers 1703. cpu i7-7820hk.

desktop: custom. windows 10 home 64 bit. vers 1703. cpu i7-7700.

this can result of system conflict due either incomplete or duplicate download of application itself. eliminate conflicts, recommend follow steps below:

1. uninstall the twitchsetup:
   a. in search box, type programs and features , press enter.  
   b. locate application want uninstall , right-click select uninstall.  
   c. follow on-screen prompts.  
   d. once done, proceed next step.
   
   
2. delete temp , %temp files:

   
   a. press win+r keys open run dialog box.
   b. type temp , click ok open temp folder.
   c. delete files inside temp folder.
   d. press win+r keys open run dialog box.
   e. type %temp , click ok open %temp folder.
   f. delete files under %temp folder.
   g. once done, close folders , proceed next step.
   
   

3. restart device apply changes.
4. download , re-install twitchsetup.
5. once done, check if issue persists.
