Installing updates - Microsoft Community

computer has been trying install updates 6 months now, frustration level @ new high. so, begin process of installing updates takes time , once ready restarts , there have black screen , little circle goes round , round , it. have left doing that, gone work, come home , it's still doing same think, not install. have manually turn off computer, turn on pressing f1, tell me restoring previous system. thinking perhaps don't have enough free space???? don't care add more memory, can't make update go away? thanks!
