May 2017 update install locked and now computer freezes after login - Microsoft Community

while away automatic update attempted install may 2017 patches.  on return still installing 1 of 4 updates.  i tried ctl alt del, did not work.  i did power down , restart.  started computer normally.   logged in using admin account, keyboard , mouse worked fine.  after 5 min, program running became 'non-responsive' , mouse either stopped totally or continued move around screen no click action performed.  keyboard stopped functioning well.  rebooted again in safe mode, , attempted system restore, no restore points found.  i deleted downloaded update files per post in community , re-booted , ran windows update after login.  windows update found update , downloaded.  ran update.  computer froze again.

i stuck reinstalling win 7, before wanted check community see if there else might try before taking nuclear option.  thanks in advance!

windows updates take time , mustn't interrupted updates installed , kind of case, suggest in following troubleshooting steps provided in article , see if helps.
