friend helped remedy.  go device manager , open.  under "mice , and other pointing devices,"  double click , then right click on "synaptics ps/2 port touchpad."  open properties , under driver tab, click on "roll driver."  see options of why want roll driver.  chose "because latest driver not work apps."  roll driver , reboot.  hope works problem.
