Windows license error - Microsoft Community

after updating windows 10 creator update yesterday, pc shows such kind of message have shown in pic windows activated message appear again , again while m working on machine, plz , guide me should do.

windows 10 activation reports license expire.

this can happen number of reasons:

• you copied windows 10 pro off internet (usually volume license - organization - key) , changed on windows 10 home installation. windows 10 pro not free. if did, need reinstall previous edition or version running. inadvertently installed wrong edition.
  • the copy of windows 10 download , upgrade correspond edition of windows have installed, if not, why might experiencing problems activating:

• windows 7 starter, home basic, home premium, windows 8.0 core, windows 8.1 core will install windows 10 home

• windows 7 professional, windows 7 ultimate, windows 8.0 pro, windows 8.1 pro will install windows 10 pro

to find out if have right edition installed:

click start > settings > update & security > activation > edition.

if edition of windows 10 installed not correspond edition of windows 7 or windows 8 running, need reinstall right edition.

use appropriate product key edition of windows 10 have installed.

if windows 7 or windows 8 came preinstalled, use that product key update product key values. 

windows 8.0, windows 8.1 or windows 10 came preinstalled on computer, how find product key?

press windows key + x

click command prompt (admin)

enter following command:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice oa3xoriginalproductkey

hit enter

the product key revealed, copy product key enter it

click start > settings > update & security > activation > change product key enter new product key click next to activate

if unable activate windows 10 after above , have correct edition installed, please attempt phone activation:

windows 7 came preinstalled on computer, how find product key?

the product key located on coa sticker attached bottom of laptop or in battery compartment. in rare cases can found in memory compartment. tower systems, @ top or side of system unit. it looks following:

if certificate of authenticity (coa) sticker damaged or letters or not legible, have consider following options:

• use digital camera capture picture of coa enlarge on computer.

• if coa sticker damaged, need use recovery partition reinstall windows 7, exempt need use product key activate windows 7 installation.

• if recovery partition not available or damaged, should contact manufacturer of computer , request recovery disc set can use reinstall windows 7. might charge small shipping , handling fee. exempt need use product key also.

• if none of above options work or not available, best purchase new windows 10 license:

buy windows 10 home/pro

i bought retail box copy of windows 7 or windows 8 or windows 8.1; find product key?

for windows 7, product key can located on pamphlet in inside windows 7 box.

for windows 8 or windows 8.1, product key can found on small business size card inside windows 8 box.
