Installing Windows 8.1 Download - Microsoft Community

my pc custom built, , installed windows 7 32-bit version - simply because @ hand.  worked quite fine year, though 64-bit version have been appropriate. @ 1 point, did update windows 10, caused pc's performance drop drastically. purchased digital version of windows 8.1, , followed instructions using media creation tool. however, not quite sure - saved on stick , later on dvd, when tried use setup, pc told me couldn't execute app. doing wrong? i'd grateful kind of advice.

if still have 10, have clean install 8.1

in first screen of simple wizard, need choose following:

language. english – en-us if you're in united states.

edition. windows 8.1 (core), windows 8.1 n, windows 8.1 pro, windows 8.1 pro n, or windows 8.1 single language.

architecture. 64-bit (x64 ) or 32-bit (x86).
