Windows 10 won't stop downloading unknown items even after I set - Microsoft Community

i bought windows 10 laptop couple months ago, have been facing problem laptop has been continuously downloading items not know of or cannot find on laptop.

i set connection metered connection,

i tried reset connection , set metered connection again,

i tried turn off background apps,
turned off live tiles,
unchecked "updates more 1 place" option well

when start laptop, net works fine 3-5 mins , then, net speed drops zero.
tried searching online solutions, pages tell me turn on "metered connection" option, doesn't seem solve problem.
checked if recent softwares have been installed, none have been.
during process noticed of apps updated, though disabled automatic updates them (eg. skype, had turned off automatic update months, updated on 15 jan or so)
have run out of ideas , thought i'd post here.

with regard query, installing updates in windows 10 done automatically, if you're using metered connection. can defer windows updates on device. once updates released, pending updates install notification on device.

when defer upgrades, new windows features won’t downloaded or installed several months. deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates.

note: deferring upgrades prevent getting latest windows features they’re available.

to defer upgrade, please follow steps below:

1. go settings.
2. click on update & security.
3. select windows update.
4. click on advanced options.
5. by default, options disabled. put check on defer upgrade.
6. reboot pc changes take effect.
