Migrating Windows 10 from HDD to SSD (not so basic) - Microsoft Community

hello,

i have old desktop pc win10, upgraded windows 7. 

as trying give new juice pc boght 500 gb evo850 ssd.

provided have backup fro files , stuff, read elsewhere instead of migrating/cloning hd better choice go clean install. 

here come news.

i asking following best: 

1. win10 recover tool clean install on ssd (can chenghe unit install clean win10 hd ssd?)

2. win10 clean install usb bootable unit (selecting ssd destination)

3. install windows 7 upgrade win10 (??? possible???)

which method of 3 above suggest? furher suggetion?

do both require activation key? not sure have put old win7 cd rom (to recover activation key), (i have 3/4 big drawers damn cd possibly be)?

i read on other threads there software can recover activation key, like:

or command like 

wmic path softwarelicensingservice oa3xoriginalproductkey

thank response. here way check activation or product key windows operating system.

1. press windows key + x
2. click command prompt (admin).
3. enter command: wmic path softwarelicensingservice oa3xoriginalproductkey
4. hit enter.

the product key revealed, make sure copy product key future use.
