windows/fonts "font file names" column empty for MANY - Microsoft Community

i looking @ fonts in c:\windows\fonts , decided sort column "font file names" (might have enable column, not sure if on default).  have looks 100's of files have no filename listed.

i have seen these before, thought variations or fonts in "ttc" type file shared same file other fonts in same family or such.  when sorted filename, found tons of files showed no path, simple files in c:\windows\fonts directory.

it seems if font family, shown in windows font display split among 1 or more files, 'filename' column blank.  know how have display *any* of filenames?  ideally, show file main-font (regular or medium width -- filename no "adjectives" on it).

two examples: "7th service" having main file of 7th.ttf + italics in 7thi.ttf would, ideally, show 7th.ttf.

"a charming font" show "a charming font.ttf", ignoring variants expanded, italic, leftleaning, outline, , superexpanded (all separate font files).

not groundshakingly important, curious if builtin font-page more helpful.

fwiw, easier locate filenames if open explorer window aside normal font-display window w/address \\localhost\c\windows\fonts (assuming allow read file system local system :-)).

thanks!
