Wifi transfer speed among PCs < 0.5MB/sec ! Why? How - Microsoft Community

i have desktop pc running windows 7 pro , laptop running windows 10 home. both connected same 5ghz wifi network (my home wifi). shared folders on desktop pc because want access them laptop. well, laptop can access them, if try copy them file transfer speed incredibly, incredibly slow: 27 minutes transfer 65 files total of 641mbs. tried both windows 10 built-in copy , teracopy, , time same. tried plugging mains charger in laptop, , results same, too. means a file transfer speed pc laptop of about 405 kb/sec ( = 641 / (27*60) * 1024) !!!

the router vodafone's hhg2500 huaweii. ac router; understand actual speeds far theoretical speeds, , transferring files via wifi half-duplex, but, still, less half mb/sec unacceptable!!!

note both devices less 2 metres away router, router not busy doing else (no downloads etc), , there no other devices connected.

is there can (other replacing router) improve it? software setting should change?

note desktop pc runs plex server, , can stream hd videos via wifi server laptop , android tablet fine.
