Failed to install font in Win 10 - Microsoft Community

i using win 8.

when want stall new font msg: requested file c:\xxx not valid font file. keeps appeared.

i checked using admin acc, while font file can installed other computers.

all new fonts files cannot installed. 

i tried both ways double clicking font file, or drag control panel -> font

and same error msg appeared.

i tired switch on/off firewall, same problem appeared. 

i tried safe mode, , can install it.

any help? in advance

to isolate issue, have questions you: 

1. what kind of font trying install? 

2. is font desktop display or is font typing? 

3. where did download font? windows store or not? 

4. were there changes made before issue occurred? 

5. what other troubleshooting steps have done far?
