I can't reset windows 10 - Microsoft Community

<p>hi,</p><p>i bought micromax canvas laptap windows 10 preinstalled in it. after using days realized couldn't update giving errors many other apps such store , outlook started giving errors. decided reset pc. clicked on button settings , selected keep files. process started @ restart. went right until 99% stopped there while , then&nbsp;i&nbsp;got&nbsp;a message saying windows can't reset pc. </p><p>please solve issue.</p>

did roll old install?  if go on windows 10 performance , install integrity checklist - microsoft community .

if not check if pc model has factory recovery triggered key possibly given on first screen.  can google make/model pc + factory recovery more information. 

if not use whichever method works here access advanced startup options in windows 8 , 10.

if none of other methods work may necessary create a  recovery drive or  create windows 10 installation media on pc.  media provides stable way booted repairs , allows if necessary doing vastly superior clean install windows 10.

insert media, boot powering pc while pressing bios boot menu key, choose boot device uefi device if offered, on second screen choose repair computer.

in advanced troubleshooting options try startup repair see if works first, try troubleshooting category reset windows 10 pc again.  might see there link factory recovery if pc maker added it.   if not , neither work can use same media rescue files when windows won't start if necessary , clean install windows 10. 

since have more obscure laptop during install identify , highlight c windows partition click next without formatting.  archive entire old install in c:\windows.old folder you'll find files, able browse c:\windows\system32 device manager find drivers go missing after windows updates done.  after 30 days disk cleanup automatically delete windows.old or can manually disk cleanup choosing system files cleanup. 

finally, if install cannot configured satisfaction due reason - such obscure pc begin i've seen nothing - have last resort saving 10+gb factory recovery partition if included maker.  can manually boot new install creating dual boot menu choose boot recovery following boot recovery partition using easybcd .
