Netlogon fails by DNS DC-to-DC? - Microsoft Community

hi,

i have weird issue. active directory dc's , 2 dcs complain connecting netlogon folder. ad01 can access folder ip address , responds quickly. if try fqdn or shortname fails connect netlogon folder. while ad06 cannot connect ad01 netlogon folder ip or fqdn.

all other servers in forest can access each others netlogon folder.

i've turned off firewalls test , makes no difference.

all name resolution works short, long , relsoves ip name ping -a.

ad servers:

ad01=10.10.10.15=ad01.tor.local

ad06=10.10.20.30=ad06.tor.local

ex:

from ad01 cannot access the \\10.10.10.15\netlogon

from ad01 cannot access \\ad06.tor.local\netlogon

from ad06 can access the \\10.10.20.30\netlogon

from ad01 cannot access \\ad01.tor.local\netlogon

any ideas....stumped?
