If Windows 10 upgrade is not free anymore, why is Windows 8.1 - Microsoft Community

my wife's computer runs windows 8.1. not enable automatic update, ransomware threat went windows update , allowed important , recommended updates sure. surprise, surprise: when finished installing, message button "restart now" in order install windows 10!

first question: doesn't want windows 10, how rolls unwanted upgrade without having install windows 10 first , rolling afterwards?

second: if windows 10 upgrade isn't free anymore, why happening update of windows 8.1??!
