when try split clip on movie maker, of clips removed. can seen here: https://youtu.be/m4kn4ula6bq

try doing this:

1. start new project

2. add problem .mp4 clip project.

3. save movie new name in .mp4 format.

4. use *that* file in place of original .mp4

in way, you'll sure using full mpeg-4 encoding movie maker understands.
