Why two product ID's for Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

after installed windows 10 (from 95 8 8.1 10) changed 64 bit allow me use more memory.

i found had few software packages (old expensive when purchased them) , there no way them upgraded 64 bit or have windows 10 run them. installed 32 bit version onto different partition on backup hard drive. seem have 2 product id's. 32 bit version not update 64 bit. 64 bit version 1607 while 32 bit 1507.

will 32 bit not update @ all?

this little known loop hole because of digital entitlement assigned machine.

when upgraded previous version of windows or receive new computer preinstalled windows 10, happened hardware (your pc) digital entitlement, unique signature of computer stored on microsoft activation servers. windows 7 or windows 8 genuine license running exchanged diagnostics key.

the activation server doesn't care if have partition or not, still same single machine. thats why able install instance (32 or 64 bit) without affecting license. not condoned, microsoft not blocking either.

windows 10 32 , 64 bit should update fine.
