Update KB3125574 (Convenience Rollup) & PACE License - Microsoft Community

i tried install update software called uvi workstation (it's making music), gave error once attempt install pace software (which part of ilok license manager).
said needed update windows 7 , should let install important updates.
however, that, there's nothing install through windows update default.

you can find following instructions on websites such ilok , avid:

"if not have kb3125574 or kb3033929 need download kb3125574 update microsoft's website https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3125574 , install it." 

i indeed did not see in windows' update-list, should install update kb3125574.

looks it's kind of "convenience roll-up" package of half gigabyte. i'm wondering;

first, why never installed automatically? considering supposedly "important update".

and second, in package or change in system?

should installing pace software? seems quite excessive , there's no way of data necessary (is there?). isn't there smaller update or file give same support pace-software needs?
worry because don't want risk changing system in such way various other software might stop working.

and note i've been running same install since before update came out, , i've installed updates regularly throughout years. - yet never seemed show me , has been running fine.
updates show when detects it's necessary or something? - if happens that, don't want force update and, again, risk stability of whatever software changes might affect.
mean, if affects pace licensing software (and how), might able affect other software well, in negative way.

there times updates not being installed automatically. thing microsoft catalog available see , install updates need manually.
