"Type here to search" field replaced with magnifying glass - Microsoft Community

if question in wrong area please move correct section.

after windows 10 update 1703  15063.332  "type here search" field missing task bar on 1 of computers , replaced search icon (magnifying glass). other computers in update installed still have field in task bar previously.

clicking on search icon displays search field above task bar.

i thought set of options same computers maybe not. option or required search field on task bar.

i think have used windows 8.  windows 8 gave start window after logged -n.

windows 10 different gives desktop first.  click on windows icon @ left end of taskbar , start menu screen whole bunch of tiles , on left list of apps.also lower left icons. power, settings , you.  @ top left 3 bars expand covering allapps lis , tell icons are.

no, not windows 8. in original post said "after windows 10 update 1703  15063.332". it win 10 latest update version being referred "creator" version.

the blank area referring was after clicked on windows icon , entire area start menu should display in bottom left of screen entirely blank except power, settings , my icon. it came after disk cleanup , fixed problem task bar select wanted on it.

i realize there not appear logic why disk cleanup fixed problems, did good.
