hi gerry,

i've been having same issue last 3 windows updates , see posting list of steps in every forum, never responses causing issue or how fix it.

could provide general idea of causing problem or give example of how able fix on particular machine if device specific?

there many reasons why windows 10 feature updates fail.

the process downloading, installing , configuring update complicated , can take hours. process needs take place without interruptions user of computer. unfortunately microsoft has encouraged customers believe automatic updating background task. result many different types of error result depending on capacity , fitness of computer handle large downloads , multiple system changes. there many users attempting update computers which should not have been upgraded windows 10.

i trying assist these users , have noticed many requests information assist in diagnosis going wrong. my success rate in providing solutions not high result in significant number of cases.

if me please provide more information cause of problem may diagnosed.

 

please restart computer , allow 20 minutes system run before uploading information required me investigate problem. when examining event viewer log files many, not all, problems show in period after computer has been booted.

 

please provide copy of system information file. access system information file select keyboard shortcut win+r, type msinfo32 and click ok . place cursor on system summary. select file, export , give file name noting located. click save. files in txt file format preferred.do not place cursor within body of report before exporting file.the system creates new system information file each time system information accessed. need allow minute or 2 file populated before exporting copy. please upload file onedrive, share , post link here. if report in language other english, please state language.

 

please upload onedrive , share copy of system log file from event viewer , post link here. please remove earlier copies of logs onedrive.

 

to access system log select keyboard shortcut win+r, type eventvwr.msc , press the enter key. list in left side of window select windows logs , system. place cursor on system, select action menu , save events as (the default evtx file type) , give file name. not provide filtered files. do not place cursor in list of reports before selecting action menu. not clear logs whilst have continuing problem.
